The Backstory
In the age before kingdoms, the city of Erathis the Bright stood where no city should โ atop a vein of primordial stone older than language. A scribe named Aldric discovered that certain marks cut into this stone could reshape reality. He called them glyphs.
Aldric catalogued twelve fundamental glyphs โ Flame, Frost, Thorns, Vitality, Swiftness, Sight, Greed, Sustenance, Wrath, Warding, Vampirism, and Fortune โ each a syllable in a forgotten grammar of creation. Combined, they could unmake and rewrite anything: flesh, stone, time, death.
He carved them all into himself.
The transformation was not kind. Aldric became the Glyph King โ immortal, immense, and no longer entirely human. His runes pulled Erathis underground stone by stone. The Sewers formed from the city's drowned foundations. The Crypt grew from the bodies of those who tried to flee. The Citadel rose from the barracks of his runed knights. The Abyss opened where his power tore reality too thin. And the Sanctum โ his throne room โ crystallized from pure glyph energy, beautiful and lethal.
Now, twenty floors deep, the Glyph King sits in perfect silence, writing and rewriting the laws of his domain. The glyphs scattered across each floor are fragments of his power โ and the only weapon that can unmake him. Collect them. Survive his guardians. Descend.
Many have tried. The Crypt has a room for each of them.
The World
Twenty floors of the Shards of the Unknown, divided into five biomes:
๐ข The Sewers (1โ4)Drowned ruins of Erathis. Rats, bats, and things that grew in the dark.
๐ต The Crypt (5โ8)Built by the dead, for the dead. Goblins, ghosts, and the Lich's domain.
๐ด The Citadel (9โ12)The King's fortress. Runed knights and demons still guard the halls.
๐ท The Abyss (13โ16)A wound in reality. Void creatures and things from between the words.
๐ฃ The Sanctum (17โ20)The throne of the Glyph King. Crystalline, beautiful, and lethal.
Merchants trade on floors 3, 7, 11, 15, 19. Wandering Sages offer healing and wisdom on floors 2, 5, 9, 13, 17. Taverns provide rest on floors 5, 10, 14. Mini-bosses guard floors 4, 8, 12, 16, and 19. The Glyph King awaits on floor 20.
๐งฑ Secret Walls hide throughout the dungeon โ bump a wall to crack it, then hit again to break through. Cracked walls turn amber (โ). Rogues can sense nearby secrets with a shimmer. Behind them lies hidden loot worth the search.
๐๏ธ Bone Keys appear on floors 6, 12, and 18. They unlock doors to bonus wings โ dangerous side areas with rare loot and tougher enemies.
โ Teleport Tiles are invisible floor glyphs that warp you to a random location when stepped on. Once triggered, they become visible (cyan โ) and remain active. Appear on floors 3+.
๐ชจ Avalanches occasionally collapse parts of rooms with rocks (25% chance on floors 4+). They never hit the player directly but can reshape the dungeon around you.
Character Classes
๐ง Adventurer
The balanced choice. Natural regeneration heals 1 HP every 15 turns. 10% crit chance. Pathfinder: stairs are always visible on the minimap. Starts with Leather Vest and Healing Potion.
โ Class Perk: Survivor's Instinct โ auto-eat food when starving.
๐ช Berserker
High HP (22) and ATK (+4) but 2ร hunger drain. Rage gives +3 ATK below 40% HP. Enrage ability: +5 ATK for 5 turns, once per floor. Starts with Short Sword and 2 Strength Potions.
โ Class Perk: Undying Fury โ survive a lethal hit with 1 HP, once per floor.
๐ฅท Rogue
Low HP (10) but deadly precision: 15% dodge, 20% crit. Stealth reduces enemy detection. Starts with 6 Throwing Daggers and Invisibility Potion.
โ Class Perk: Shadow Step โ become invisible for 2 turns after killing an enemy.
๐ง Wizard
Fragile (11 HP, 1 ATK) but scroll effects are doubled. Arcane Blast AoE ability. Starts with Arcane Staff and 3 identified scrolls.
โ Class Perk: Mana Shield โ 25% chance to completely negate incoming damage.
๐น Ranger
Survivalist with +2 FOV, 5% dodge, 15% crit. Forager (bonus food/arrows). Aimed Shot: 2ร bow damage on 8-turn cooldown. Infinite basic arrows. Starts with Short Bow, Dagger, Throwing Daggers, and a Ration.
โ Class Perk: Quick Draw โ Aimed Shot cooldown reduced from 8 to 5 turns.
โช Cleric
Holy warrior (18 HP, +2 ATK, +1 DEF). +3 ATK vs undead. Curse immune. Life-drain immune. Divine Heal: full HP restore once per run. Starts with Mace, Healing Potion, Scroll of Identify.
โ Class Perk: Sanctified Ground โ heal 1 HP each time you wait (Space).
๐ต Bard
Charismatic performer (12 HP, +1 ATK, +1 DEF). Charm: 25% chance to pacify an enemy on hit. Song of Rest: heal 3 HP on a 10-turn cooldown. Starts with Lute (weapon) and Healing Potion.
โ Class Perk: Encore โ charmed enemies may fight for you.
โ๏ธ Artificer
Master crafter (14 HP, +2 ATK, +1 DEF). Tinker: upgrade a piece of gear for gold, once per floor. Starts with Wrench (weapon), Leather Vest, and extra gold.
โ Class Perk: Master Smith โ upgrades give +2 instead of +1.
๐ Ninja
Shadow assassin (11 HP, +3 ATK). 20% dodge, 25% crit chance. Star Throw: ranged shuriken attack on a 6-turn cooldown. High stealth reduces detection range.
๐ฃ Dark Wizard
Corrupted mage (12 HP, +2 ATK). Acid Bolt: ranged poison attack on a 7-turn cooldown. Immune to poison. Scroll effects enhanced. Dark knowledge identifies potions.
๐งฑ Brick Mason
Stone-tough warrior (20 HP, +1 ATK, +3 DEF). Fortify: seal a doorway with a wall, once per floor. Extremely tanky but low offense.
๐คธ Daredevil
Acrobatic fighter (13 HP, +2 ATK). 20% dodge. Flip: jump over an adjacent enemy (4-turn cooldown). Ricochet: melee hits chain to adjacent enemies at 50% then 25% damage.
๐จ Escape Artist
Evasive specialist (12 HP, +1 ATK, +1 DEF). 15% dodge. Escape Route: teleport to an adjacent room, once per floor. Leaves ice traps behind when fleeing enemies.

Ranged Combat
Equip a bow in the ranged slot. Press F or tap ๐น Fire, then choose a direction. Rangers have infinite basic arrows; other classes must manage arrow supply. Special arrows (๐ฅ Fire, โ๏ธ Frost, ๐ฅ Blast, ๐ก๏ธ Pierce) can be loaded for bonus effects.
Equipment Slots
โ๏ธ WeaponMelee weapon โ adds ATK to melee hits
Special enemies: Wraiths/Void Wraiths drain max HP (Clerics are immune; Glyph of Warding gives 50% resist; shrines can grant full immunity). Slimes/Hydras split on death. Mimics disguise as chests. Phase enemies walk through walls. Demons leave fire trails.
โข Rations stack up to 5 per inventory slot โ hoard wisely, but food is still scarce.
โข Equipment found on deeper floors is stronger (+1 ATK/DEF from floor 9, +2 from floor 16).
โข One-way doors seal behind you. The depths always offer a way forward, never back.
โข Sealed doors are bound by minor glyphs. Bash them open โ the blood price is steep but survivable.
โข The ghost of your previous run haunts the floor where you fell. Defeat it for its treasure.
โข Identify potions carefully โ some were left as traps by the King's alchemists.
โข Perk synergies combine the grammar of the glyphs. The right pair can unmake armies.
โข Merchants on floors 3, 7, 11, 15, 19 are cursed to never leave. Drop items while shopping to make room.
โข Taverns on floors 5, 10, 14 offer respite โ buy food, hear one rumor (1 gold), or gamble.
โข Bump walls to search for secret passages โ Rogues can sense them nearby.
โข Bone Keys (floors 6, 12, 18) unlock bonus wings with rare loot and dangerous foes.
โข Rogues can close doors behind them (๐ช or C) โ closed doors appear teal on the map.
โข Adventurers always see stairs on the minimap โ the pathfinder's instinct.
โข Shrines offer random sacrifices: trade HP for ATK, gold for DEF, HP for hunger, or sanctify vs life-drain.
โข Auto-equip prefers specialty weapons (burn, freeze) over plain ones at the same stats.
โข Swipe the โ๏ธ Config screen to browse Stats, Settings, and Save/Load pages.

Hunger drains over time. At 0 you lose HP. Eat rations ๐ to restore it. Rations stack up to 5 per slot. Food is scarce โ manage it carefully.
